Role of parties important in creating an environment for elections: Law Minister Sinha

Kathmandu, Nov 11: Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Anil Kumar Sinha has said that since political parties are the main actors in elections they have a major role in creating an environment conducive for elections.     

At an interaction on ‘Upcoming House of Representatives Elections: Challenges and Opportunities’ organized by the Nepal Law Society here today, he expressed the view that an intensive discussion and debate between the government, political parties and other stakeholders would create a favourable environment for elections.     

Stating that the government is communicating with political parties and leaders focusing on the upcoming elections, he clarified that despite some shortcomings in some aspects due to the experience of running the state it is making every effort to find a way out of the current crisis.     

Minister Sinha said that the government has prioritized the process of granting voting rights to Nepali citizens living abroad. “The youth are looking for opportunities, the government is active in addressing their sentiments, and responsible work is being done to find a way out of the crisis.”(RSS)
