'Maharani ko Jatra' to be staged from November 10

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Nov. 10: Kantipur Film Academy’s Kantipur Theatre is set to present its third play, Maharani ko Jatra.

After the successful staging of Meera, which marked the debut of Rekha Thapa in theatre, and Shirishko Phool, which brought actor Jivan Luitel back to the stage after a long hiatus, the play Maharani ko Jatra is set to be staged. 

Due to the popularity of Meera and Shirishko Phool, there is already great anticipation surrounding this new production. 

Both previous plays attracted new audiences to the theatre, including film personalities, artists, and journalists. 

This time, Kantipur Theatre is featuring the experienced film and theatre actress Usha Rajak and Raj Neupane, along with new actresses Suhana Acharya and Nikita Acharya, in Maharani ko Jatra. 

The play is conceptualised and directed by Dipal Baral, a seasoned theatre artist and instructor who has been designing and directing plays for many years.

Produced by Remesh Puri, artistes including Dipesh Gajurel, Bikalpa Oli, Jyoti Lama, Samir Sharma, Bishal Karki, Shridhar Gautam, Prayas Khatri, Bimal Yadav, Manoj Tamang, Biran Dahani, Sweta Chaulagain, and Kushal Baskota, among others, are doing the play. 

All the performers are students and members of Kantipur Film Academy and Kantipur Theatre.

Maharani ko Jatra will be staged at Kantipur Film Academy, Gairidhara, every evening at 5 PM except Wednesdays from November 10.
