By Our Correspondent,Humla, Nov.7: Mobile network connectivity has resumed in Kawadi, bordering the Bajura and Humla districts.

After the installation of 4G towers in Jimana and Tanjakot of Tanjakot Rural Municipality in Humla district, mobile service has resumed in Kawadi, bordering Bajura and Humla districts, said Dhanraj Dhakal, head of the health branch of Tanjakot Rural Municipality.

Earlier, mobile phones had to be tied to ropes and hung from the roofs of houses, or people had to go to high hills to catch a mobile signal. Residents of both districts have been communicating this way for 15 years, said Dhakal. The installation of the 4G tower has brought an end to that compulsion.

The towers in Jimana and Tanjakot have made it easier for Bajura locals to communicate. When the mobile network was not working, the security personnel of Kawadi were forced to go to an elevated area to make phone calls or come to the temporary police post in Chaprola to exchange information in the district.

Rural Municipality Chairman Lalkesh Jaisi said that although mobile services have been restored due to the towers in two places, internet services have not been restored yet. He urged Nepal Telecom to restore internet services as well. If the machines installed in the current towers are repaired, internet services are likely to be restored.
