By Our Correspondent,Prabat, Nov. 4: Subash Poudel, a student of Pashupati Secondary School in Modi Rural Municipality-7, Parbat, has achieved first position in the national-level open speech contest.
The event was organised on the occasion of the ‘Uttarbahini Mahamela and Damodar Dharmotsav,” held at the confluence of the Kaligandaki River flowing northward along the border of Palpa and Syangja districts.
According to the coordinator of the competition, Dr. Tulsiram Khanal, Raghav Basyal from Kaligandaki Gurukul, from Rambha Rural Municipality–1 of Palpa, secured second place, while Shraddha Ghimire from Kapilvastu Vidyamandir in Banganga, Kapilvastu, stood third. Consolation prizes were awarded to Shreekrishna Neupane from Parmananda Smriti Vedic Vidyabhawan, Chitwan, Diblab Sen from Bhupu Sainik Rising Residential Secondary School, Rampur, Palpa, Ritika KC from Kajiman Haritiki Secondary School, Putalibazar, Syangja, Prakriti Pandey from Chirag Residential Secondary School, Galyang, and Shankar Neupane from Saraswati Secondary School, Ward No. 13 of Waling Municipality.
Likewise, Prashansa Mahato from Jagannath Secondary School, Sunwal Municipality–12, Bhumehi, Nawalparasi, received an encouragement award.
The first, second, and third prize winners received Rs. 31,000, Rs. 21,000, and Rs. 11,000, respectively.
Similarly, five contestants received consolation prizes of Rs. 5,100 each.
A total of 65 students from grades 7 to 12 competed in the competition.
