Writ petition submitted to SC against probe commission

Kathmandu, Oct 26: A writ petition has been submitted before the Supreme Court against Gauri Bahadur Karki, Chairman of the Commission for Investigation of Loss of Lives and Property during the Gen Z Protest, and the C0mmission Members Bigyan Raj Sharma and Bishweshwor Prasad Bhandari.     

Advocate Bipin Dhakal reached the SC with writ petition, arguing that the office bearers in the Commission were not neutral on investigation and issues relating to the Gen Z protest. It could cause unfair probe, he added.     

However, Spokesperson at SC, Arjun Prasad Koirala, informed that the writ petition against the inquiry commission was received and it was under study for further action.     

The interim government had formed the inquiry commission under the leadership of former chair of Special Court, Karki, to study and investigate the loss of life and property during the Gen Z protest.(RSS)
