Janakpur Bolts appoint Chanderpaul as Head Coach

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Oct. 14: Defending champions Janakpur Bolts have named former West Indies captain Shivnarine Chanderpaul as their head coach for the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL).

The franchise believes Chanderpaul’s appointment will bolster their title defence. He replaces Pubudu Dassanayake, who currently coaches the United States national team.

Chanderpaul represented the West Indies in 164 Test matches and 268 One Day Internationals, amassing over 20,000 runs across a distinguished 21-year international career.

He brings a wealth of experience from top-tier competitions including the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Vitality Blast, Bangladesh Premier League, Champions League T20, and the Indian Premier League. He also spent several seasons playing county cricket in England.

Beyond his playing career, Chanderpaul has coached CPL franchise Jamaica and the USA women’s national cricket team.

The second season of the NPL is scheduled to run from 16 November to 12 December.
