Writing Means A Lot To Me

blog

Even though I am seven years old, four of my articles and several artworks have been published by “The Rising Nepal.” There are many ways of writing I like. Mostly, I write about where I have been, the people I have met, and what I see and feel. Writing gives me a lot. It helps me with my studies, it makes my writing better, and I remember what I feel is important. When I write again and again, one article after another, I understand more.

I usually make notes first, and then I talk to my father and my sister, Vidheha, to get their ideas. Once my notes are done, I know what I want to write about. Right now, I’m working on an article about my trip to Cape Cod, with its lakes, ponds, bay, and ocean. I have also visited many other interesting places, such as cultural sites in Kathmandu, Washington, D.C., and more.

I love museums. Some of my published articles have been about the beach, fun with snow, and reading in libraries. I also like to research. That’s a big word, so let me explain. When I went to the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, I saw an exhibit about early humans. I listened to the audio guide, watched documentaries, and read more about them. I even learned about a cave where a group once lived. I wrote about a man who was found buried in that cave, along with his family.

I like to be creative and imagine things, whether I am helping in the kitchen, playing, cleaning, making artwork, or writing. Before I start writing, I always let my imagination lead the way.

Sometimes writing feels easy, and sometimes it feels hard. One challenge is adding artwork or photos. I take photos, but they often get lost on the phone or computer! After spending many hours making sure everything looks good, I ask my father and sister to send it to the editor of "The Rising Nepal".

Then I wait for it to be published. When it finally comes out, I feel so happy and thankful to the editors. I share my work with friends and family, and my father posts it on social media, where people leave comments. I hope you also write a lot, because writing is really fun. I’m happy to share my experiences with you. I hope you enjoyed this article, and maybe it inspires you to publish your own writing too!
