NC's Yadav proposed for post of Chief Minister

Janakpur, Oct 8: Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader Krishna Prasad Yadav has been proposed for the post of Chief Minister of Madhesh Province.     
The major parties represented in the Provincial Assembly, Nepali Congress, CPN (UML) and Janamat Party, have submitted their claims to the Office of the Chief of Province to appoint Congress parliamentary party leader Yadav as the new Chief Minister.     
Earlier this afternoon, the leaders of all three parties submitted a formal claim of majority at the Provincial Chief's Office to form a government as per Article 168 (2) of the Constitution.     
Yadav, who has been proposed for the post of Chief Minister, has the support of a total of 58 Provincial Assembly members, including 23 from UML, 22 from Nepali Congress and 13 from Janamat Party. A majority of 54 members is required to form a government in the 107-member Madhesh Province Assembly.     
The letter submitted to the provincial chief office has been signed by UML parliamentary party leader Saroj Kumar Yadav, Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader Krishna Prasad Yadav, and Janmat Party parliamentary party leader Mahesh Prasad Yadav.(RSS)
