By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Sept.30: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has emphasised to strengthen good governance, social harmony and reconciliation, while reaffirming her government’s commitment to conduct the House of Representatives election on 5 March as scheduled.
“We remain fully committed to holding the House of Representatives election on schedule, while ensuring good governance and guiding the nation towards stability and prosperity,” she added.
In her Dashain message, issued by the Prime Minister’s Personal Secretariat on the occasion of Dashain 2025, Karki expressed confidence that the festival would foster family unity, social goodwill and mutual harmony.
The Prime Minister announced that she would not receive tika or take part in the customary programme of offering tika this year.
Her secretariat explained that the decision was taken in remembrance of the many young lives lost during the recent youth-led protests.
“The current government was formed on the foundation of the historic youth movement,” the message read.
Extending festive greetings to all Nepalis at home and abroad, the Prime Minister wished for happiness, peace, prosperity, good health and progress.
She also prayed that Goddess Durga Bhawani would bless the nation with strength, and appealed for unity in advancing the country’s development and collective wellbeing.
