By Bomlal Giri, Nawalpur, Aug.7: The Daunne road section of Nawalpur along the East-West Highway has been blocked again.
Police Inspector Rajan Timilsina of the Area Police Office, Dumkibas, said that the problem arose as vehicles were unable to move up the Daunne slope due to the slippery road.
"When it rains lightly, vehicles are unable to move, sometimes vehicles break down midway, sometimes landslides block the road," said Police Inspector Timilsina. "The situation of traffic is uncertain."
The Narayanghad-Butwal Road Project stated that there are problems with traffic movement due to road blockages in the Daunne section and efforts are being made to resume the road by repairing it.
The road, which had been blocked for the past four days, was one way reopened on Wednesday, but the problem resurfaced on Thursday again, police said.
Multiple roadblocks have been faced on the road near the Bishwakarma Temple in Binayi Tribeni Rural Municipality-2.
"Although road expansion work is currently underway, focusing on the 14-kilometer stretch of Daunne, problems arise even during normal rains due to the lack of road plastering and blacktop," said Police Inspector Janakraj Banjara, Chief of the District Traffic Police Office.
