By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, July 28: The 4th edition of Kathmandu Kalinga Literary Festival is scheduled for September 13 and 14 in Kathmandu.
A press statement, issued jointly by Vikash Bhusal, director, and Pawan Thapa Magar, coordinator of the festival, on Sunday, read that legendary Indian film actor, director, producer Amol Palekar, script writer Sandhya Gokhale, legendary singer and actress Illa Arun, noted film and music scholar Yatindra Mishra and dynamic you tuber turned actress Prajakta Koli will join the festival.
According to KLF founder and director, Rashmi Ranjan Parida, Palekar and Gokhale will speak in a session on Palekar’s biography titled 'Viewfinder: A Memoir.'
Illa Arun will be in one to one conversation on her biography recently published by the Penguin Random House. Likewise, you tuber and actress Prajakta Koli will be in one to one conversation on her book published by Harper Collins. Koli has recently been named the 100 most influential digital voices in the inaugural 2025 TIME 100 Creators List.
Over 300 writers from Nepal, India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka will join the Festival.
"The 4th Kathmandu Kalinga Literary Festival will showcase literature, music, dance, poetry and other art forms," said KLF founder and director, Parida. "It will be a lifetime experience for the lovers of literature, music, dance, art, and poetry."
She stressed that the Festival will celebrate the long-standing ties between Nepal and India and the South Asian countries in the context of the emerging global cultures.
It is stated that the central theme of the Festival is "Beyond Borders: South Asian Literature in a Changing World."
According to organisers, the theme seeks to explore how writers, poets, and intellectuals from the South Asian region are contributing to global conversations on identity, social engagement, climate action, economic development, cultural evolution, inclusion, and spirituality.
The festival will include panel discussions and keynote talks featuring prominent thinkers, writers, and commentators. It will feature poetry readings and performance, workshops and master classes, South Asian Literary Awards and Recognitions, and Cross-Border Collaboration events.

Annual Kalinga Literary Festival (KLF) is one of the leading international literary festivals from India which is being held anually at Bhubaneswar of Odisha, an eastern part of India. The KLF has been hosting the Kathmandu edition since 2022.
