Kathmandu, July 13: President Ramchandra Paudel has said that Bhanubhakta is not only a poet of the Nepali language but also a poet who loves the mother language.

On the occasion of the 212th Bhanu Jayanti, during a special ceremony organized by the Nepal Academy and the Bhanu Sahitya Uddyan at Sheetal Niwas, the President emphasized that every language's creator should be inspired by Bhanubhakta to create literature in their mother tongue, enhancing the Nepali society as a beautiful garden of diverse languages and literature.

He urged for the development of the proposed Chundiramgha as a literary pilgrimage site to reflect this desire to create a shared cultural environment. President Paudel said, 'We must unite the major creators of the Nepali language and the creators of diverse languages in Nepal around Bhanubhakta, which can strengthen the shared Nepali culture.'

He mentioned that Bhanubhakta's birthplace, Chundiramgha, needs to be developed as a place that people from around the world, who wish to understand Nepali culture and Nepal, must visit at least once in their lives. He said this would contribute to the promotion of tourism in that location. President Paudel emphasized the need to develop Bhanu Uddyan as a shared centre of Nepali culture and urged to reflect the main cultural centres of all seven provinces of Nepal to move forward as Saptadhama.

President Paudel stated that during Bhanubhakta's era, the foundation of Nepali nationality was being established and that Nepali warriors reached as far as the Tishta River in the east and Kangada in the west during the nation-building campaign.

On that occasion, the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, stated that during times when there are no effective means of communication and information, the Ramayan had made a significant contribution to maintaining unity among Nepali speakers, and that this contribution has its roots in the ancient poets.

Chancellor of the Nepal Academy, Bhupal Rai, mentioned that there is a goal to start working on a similar concept within the academy, bringing together all language speakers, just like the park being developed in Tanahun. He said that efforts are being made to manage the resources for that purpose.

Former Vice Chancellor of the Nepal Academy, Bairagi Kainla, shared that the creation by the ancient poet, which was intended for the welfare of the people, is in line with the ideals of the current welfare state.

On that occasion, 10 poets including Dr Navaraj Lamsal and Dhirendra Premarshi had recited poems related to Bhanubhakta Acharya and the Ramayana.(RSS)
