NRNARC Zhejiang, China elects new committee

By A Staff Reporter,Yiwu (China), July 2: The 7th general convention of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Regional Committee (NRNARC) Zhejiang, China, elected a new committee for 2025-27.

The general convention held in Yiwu, a city in the Chinese Province of Zhejiang on June 28 formed the new committee led by Govinda Bhandari.   

Aakash Gurung, who had been the president of the NRNARC Zhejiang for a period of 2023-25, presided over the programme, according to a statement received from the NRNARC, Zhejinag. 

The chief guest was the vice president of NRNA NCC (Nepal Chamber of Commerce) China, Yadav Aryal, while the special guest was Raj Kumar Kharel. 

General secretary and secretary of NCC China, advisors, and other officials were also present in the event. 

The gathering formed a new 13-member committee under Bhandari.  Themed “Nepali for Nepal,” the convention saw the presence of a good number of Nepalis residing in the region for business. 

The organisation has been providing assistance to mitigate the impacts of natural disasters in Nepal. The new working committee consists of Govinda Bhandari as president, Sujit Byanju as general secretary, Prabin Mainali as secretary and Raju Magar as treasurer.

Subash Bhattarai, Rajan Devkota, Devendra Budhathoki, Maya Magar, Arjun Regmi, Laxman Sharma, Dharma Prasad Parajuli and Lalit Karki are members. 

The newly elected members were administered the oath of office by Bimal Kandel, representative of the Election Committee and the outgoing president.
