Kathmandu, July 25: Minister for Health and Population Pradip Paudel held a discussion with health professionals, intellectuals and medical students active in Thailand on ways to improve Nepal's health sector based on Thailand's experience.
Minister Paudel, who is in Bangkok to participate in the United Nations Ministerial Meeting on Population Policy, attended the discussion program organized by the Nepali Embassy, in Bangkok, on Tuesday.
During the meeting, Minister Paudel sought suggestions from the Nepali community about Thai healthcare system, health education and health insurance, according to his personal secretariat.
Minister Paudel expressed confidence that the experience gained from Nepalis who are knowledgeable about the situation in both countries will be more useful.
Nepali Ambassador to Thailand Dhan Prasad Oli said that Nepalis in Thailand are involved in medical higher education, medical practice and business along with policy making, and that exchange of experiences would pave the way for more possibilities and collaboration in the coming days.
The Nepalis involved in the development of the healthcare service provider app participating in the interaction said that they are ready to expand their services in the Nepal. (RSS)
