By A Staff ReporterKathmandu, June 17: The Nepali Army has rescued a 13-year-old boy who went missing on May 14 while returning from a family hiking trip to Jamacho hills in Kathmandu.
According to the Directorate of Public Relations and Information, the boy was found alive but in injured condition approximately 600 metres below a steep cliff.
The boy, a resident of Gongabu Ganeshthan, was located by a search and rescue team deployed from Bhairavdal Battalion based in Nagarjun forest. The operation was launched immediately after the army received information about the missing child.
During the intensive search, the team discovered the injured boy deep in the forested gorge. On-site first aid was administered before he was rescued and transferred to the National Trauma Centre in Kathmandu for further treatment.
The boy is currently undergoing medical care at the trauma center, and his condition is reported to be stable.
