By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, June 15: Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank Dr. Biswo Nath Poudel has urged the IME Group to expand investment and create more enterprises and entrepreneurs.

Addressing the 25th anniversary of IME held in Lalitpur on Friday, Governor Poudel said that the NRB is ready to facilitate technology development and enterprise expansion.

Recalling that IME was established by taking risks even when the country was in difficult times due to conflict, he said that the country still needs many entrepreneurs who can take risks.

On the occasion, IME founding chairman Chandra Prasad Dhakal clarified that there are three foundations for the success of IME Group.

He said that it is possible to achieve success by focusing on three main principles--- the services sought by the common people, the priorities set by the government, and the ability to move forward as a business, without focusing on the fact that IME Group companies only make profits.

He said that IME Group is contributing to the overall national economy by creating thousands of quality jobs through investment expansion in banking, insurance, tourism, information technology, hydropower and other sectors through remittances.

IME Co-Founder and Chairman Hem Raj Dhakal expressed his commitment that IME will be dedicated to the social and economic transformation of its customers by expanding its services.

Hem Raj Dhakal said that he expects the support of the central bank to encourage the expansion of digital remittance infrastructure so that the youth in the information technology sector can easily remit the money they earn from exporting services abroad while staying in Nepal.

He urged that an arrangement be made to provide small loans through IME to end the situation where the youth have to pay high interest rates to take loans while going abroad to work.
