Army organises cyber security symposium

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, June 14:The fifth edition of the "National Cyber Security Symposium-2025" was successfully held on Thursday at the Army Headquarters, Bhadrakali, in the chairmanship of Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Ashok Raj Sigdel.

Recognising the rapid advancement and expansion of information and communication technology, which has made human life more convenient while also increasing risks of cyberattacks and cybercrimes, the symposium was organised with the objective of facilitating mutual exchange of knowledge, skills, and experiences in the field of cyber security, according to a press note issued by the Directorate of Public Relations and Information of the Army Headquarters.

The one-day event was conducted in two sessions and saw participation from various government ministries, the Nepali Army, other security agencies, and representatives from both governmental and non-governmental organisations associated with cyber security, according to Brigadier General and Spokesperson for the Nepali Army Rajaram Basnet. 

Experts in the field delivered presentations on critical aspects of cyber security. The participants also engaged in interactive sessions and practical exercises, addressing current scenarios and emerging threats in the digital landscape.
