By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, June 13: The monsoon, which had remained stalled over a few areas of Koshi Province, has finally spread across most parts of Koshi and Madhes provinces, some areas of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, and the eastern parts of Lumbini Province. The monsoon that entered the country from Koshi on May 29 spread in other parts of the country after 12 days on Thursday.

In a bulletin released on Thursday, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) said the monsoon is expected to reach the remaining parts of the country within a few days.

The DHM is continuously monitoring the monsoon system and will provide updates accordingly, it said.  It has requested everyone to stay informed through regular weather updates. This year, the monsoon entered Nepal 15 days earlier than the average date.

The DHM has also forecast above-average rainfall during the monsoon period from June 1 to September 30, stating that most parts of the country are likely to receive more rain than the seasonal average.
