By A Staff Reporter, Kathmandu, May 28: Universal Concept of Mental Arithmetic System (UCMAS) Nepal has completed the 13th National Level Abacus & Mental Math Competition in Kathmandu.
UCMAS is a global educational programme that is introduced for children’s cognitive development through the use of mental arithmetic and an innovative abacus-based learning method.
The event was held on Saturday in the presence of Alexan Wong, CEO of
UCMAS International Head Quarter, Malaysia where about 500 students across the
country were participated.
Addressing the function, Alexan Wong, CEO of UCMAS commended
the students’ performance and the program’s impact on developing cognitive
skills among children.
The award competition won by Aaradhya Raj Karnikar with the
title, the 'Champion of Champions'. Many trophies, medals, and certificates
were distributed to different title winning students.
Dr. Snehal Karia, President & CEO of UCMAS Nepal said
that the UCMAS programme is the pioneer of abacus-based learning and has been
scientifically researched by professors from prestigious institutions like MIT,
Harvard, Stanford, and the University of California, San Diego.
Pallavi Shrestha, Country Head of UCMAS Nepal said that the
event reaffirmed UCMAS Nepal’s ongoing commitment to developing mental
arithmetic, focus, and confidence among children through this unique
educational methodology.
