Kathmandu, May 18: A parliamentary sub-committee on School Education Bill-2080 has presented the report to the Education, Health and Information Technology Committee under the House of Representatives on Sunday.
Sub-committee coordinator Chabilal Bishwakarma submitted the report to the Committee Chairperson Amar Bahadur Khadka in the presence of Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Raghuji Pant, in the committee's meeting.
The report contains the issues related to reform of school education, said sub-committee coordinator Bishwokarma. "We have included the notion in the report that if the principal is to be made responsible and accountable, we can bring about good changes in community schools," Bishwokarma mentioned.
He shared that they recommended provisions to regulate frequent transfer of teachers in the public schools. Bishwokarma however pledged to further discuss the issues that are missed in the report or have remained incomplete and take forward accordingly.
It may be noted that the parliamentary committee on March 21 this year had formed an 11-member sub-committee to review the Bill and furnish recommendations to the committee. The sub-committee convened for 39 meetings in the last 35 days for clause-wise deliberation on the Bill designed to amend and integrate laws related to school education.(RSS)
