Dhanushadham, May 15: Chief Minister of Madhesh Province Satish Kumar Singh has said that Madhesh Province could be made a hub of Information Technology (IT) sector.
At the first edition of the
'Digital Madhesh Conclave 2025' at Bardibas in Mahottari on Wednesday, the
Chief Minister shared that the province government would allocate budget for an
IT Park for the upcoming fiscal year and a favorable environment will be set
for running IT companies in the province.
"The concept of Innovation
Centre and Space Centre will be included in the budget and there will be a
gradual progress in this area," he hoped.
He stressed that the paperless
system in the government offices should be implemented in practice.
Arguing that everything including
the warfare was based on IT system, the Chief Minister viewed that Nepal should
seriously consider the ways to apply technology in the IT age.
Likewise, he urged Nepal's IT firms
and companies to forge collaboration with the international companies.
On the occasion, Chief Minister
Singh expressed dissatisfaction to the service delivery system of Nepal Telecom
in the districts of Madhesh Province and asked Nepal Telecom to enhance its
service quality.
Similarly, Vice Chairman of Madhesh
Province Policy and Planning Commission Dr Sohan Prasad Sah stated that a
balance of Digital, Diaspora, Demography, Decentralization and Democracy (5Ds)
was needed for materializing the concept of Digital Madhesh.
Sah added that digital literacy
should be increased to make people IT-friendly, and collaboration with the
foreign universities should be done for technology and knowledge transfer.
