CM Kandel for speeding up budget implementation

Karnali, April 22: Chief Minister of Karnali Province, Yam Lal Kandel, has said it was imperative to speed up budget implementation.    
    
CM Kandel directed the ministers and secretaries for effective enforcement of budget during a review meeting held at Birendranagar on Monday. The province government had a third quarterly review of the current fiscal year.    
    
He reminded that they still had time to utilize well the budget to realize change as per budget target. The CM, however, said there was some progress in budget spending in recent time. The province government has aimed at spending 80 percent of the budget in the current fiscal year.    
    
The ministers and secretaries were questioned why the budget spending was not gaining a pace as per expectation despite having adequate human resources. The province government had not adequate workforce earlier, thereby hindering development works and slowing budget implementation.    
    
"I draw the attention of ministers and secretaries to ensure good governance and effective budget enforcement," he mentioned during the review meeting.    
    
According to him, people are waiting for change, for which, change in traditional work style is imperative. (RSS)
