Biratnagar, April 20: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has said that it was an appropriate time for the amendment to the constitution.
Speaking at a programme organized to mark 22nd anniversary of Hamromat National Daily in Biratnagar on Sunday, Prachanda underscored the need of serious dialogue for the amendment and revision of the constitution.
He also said that the government should initiate talks for the constitution's amendment.
On the occasion, the Maoist Centre Chairman argued that the form of governance was the key reason for current political instability and voiced for a suitable form of governance and electoral system.
Stating that political system and economic development share deep-rooted ties, the former PM said that economic policies should be seriously discussed.
Prachanda stated that public resentment towards the political parties and leaders has increased due to the government's failure to ensure effective service delivery.
He suggested that the government should zero in its attention to meet public aspirations.
Likewise, Koshi Province Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki said that the province government was planning to organize Investment Conference within some days to attract capital for the economic development of Koshi Province.(RSS)
