Kathmandu, April 20: The Association for Study of Culture and Religion (ASCR-Nepal) is going to organize a national conference on culture and heritage.
The Association, in collaboration with the National College, is organizing the first national conference with the objective of advancing research on religion, culture and heritage. The conference will be held at The National College, Dhumrabarahi on April 24 and 25.
President of the Association, Prof Dr Som Prasad Khatiwada, said the theme of the conference is 'Coordination of past and present: cultural practice and understanding of religion'.
A total of 32 researchers will present their working papers related to religion, culture, archaeology and heritage. Prof Dr Khatiwada shared that the conference would help bring together new and experienced researchers, professors and culture stakeholders from across the country.
The first seminar on academic writing specially designed for young researchers will help them for their research writing. Group discussions will be held in all the thematic topics of the conference on the second day session.
University professors, teachers, students and representatives of various organizations involved in the study, research and conservation of Nepal's tangible and intangible heritage will participate in the conference.
Madhav Neupane, Principal of National College, said that the research papers of the conference will be published in the college journal.
Kathmandu University Vice Chancellor Achyut Prasad Wagle and Tribhuvan University (TU) former Rector Peshal Dahal will be the keynote speakers at the conference.(RSS)
