By TRN Online, Kathmandu, April 20: Participants of 'How the eight rules change the communist Party of China' programme have stressed the need for strict discipline in Nepal, likewise the eight rules of the CPC Central Committee in China.
The Programme was organised by Friends on the Cloud Platform of Influencers Nepal in Kathmandu, where Former Secretary Devendra Sitaula said China maintained self-respect and self-dependence through the CPC's eight-point rules.
"The Chinese Communist Party strongly followed the eight rules, which help the Party to be disciplined and China to make the world's strong economy," Sitaula said.
Recalling his China visit, he said that the 1990s generation in China who ride cycles are riding BYD cars.
Returnee from China visit and Nepali Artist Krishna Malla said that the most impressive thing for Nepal was the discipline he saw in China. "As mentioned in the eight points, rules no luxurious visits and other expenditures they conduct, which finally binds them into the discipline, whereas we see our leaders' jumbo team and red carpets," Malla added.
Similarly, Friends on the Cloud Platform of Influencers' Chair Shovit Upreti welcomed the participants, saying that the eight rules of CPC were the foundations for today's economically prosperous China.
On December 4, 2012, the eight rules were set by the Political Bureau of the 18th CPC Central Committee to urge all officials to improve their ways of doing things and maintain close ties with the people. They were 1) Improving investigation and fact-finding trips, 2) Streamlining meetings and other activities, 3) Reducing documents and briefings, 4) Standardizing arrangements for visits abroad, 5) Improving security procedures, 6) Improving news reports, 7) Imposing restrictions on publishing writings, and 8) Practicing diligence and frugality.
