blog

Kathmandu, April 17: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Devendra Dahal has directed the employees to make performance, development construction and resource mobilization transparent and efficient.

Speaking at a workshop on settlement of arrears organised by the Ministry in Bhairahawa today, he urged the Ministry and its subordinate bodies not to allow arrears to come in the course of performance.

Minister Dahal said the citizens expect good governance and transparency in every service and the government has also given priority to financial discipline.

"Every office and employee should pay attention to some of the problems such as non- completion of the projects on time, the projects remaining in limbo and their becoming a financial burden,” he said.

The Minister instructed the employees to carry out works and mobilize in the field so that the projects started would be completed within the stipulated time. He urged the government employees to work in such a way that citizens feel the government's existence.

Minister Dahal said that efforts were being made to create false narrative that nothing is possible in Nepal, adding that it was necessary to sensitize the citizens about the development works carried out by the government and the improvement in the living standard of the people.

Secretary at the Ministry, Keshav Kumar Sharma, at the programme organized at coordination of the Federal Road Supervision and Monitoring Office, Pokhara, said that delaying the project and not completing it on time would not be allowed to take place any longer.

On the occasion, Director General of the Department of Roads, Ram Hari Pokharel, and Executive Director of the Road Board, Ganesh Bahadur KC, briefed the employees about the status and necessity of arrears management, and the construction and repair of roads and bridges.(RSS)
