By Janarjan Khatri, Sarlahi, Apr.17: It has been found that all private hospitals in Barahathwa Bazaar, the main commercial center in the southwestern part of Sarlahi, are operating against standards.

Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh inspected 11 private hospitals and polyclinics in Barahathwa Bazaar on Wednesday evening and directed to close health institutions operating below the required standard.

Chief Minister Singh has directed to shut down Sankat Mochan Hospital, Sanjeevani Hospital, Happy Hospital, Sarlahi Golden Hospital, Venus Hospital, Hanumant Hospital, Barahathawa Nav Jeevan Hospital, and four other polyclinics that have failed to meet the standards and are not even registered.

Santosh Thakur, Public Health Officer at the Ministry of Health and Population of Madhesh Province, said that all 11 health institutions that are operating below the standards have been instructed to close immediately.

He advised resuming operation only after completing registration and other procedures.

Chief Minister Singh arrived in Barahathwa to inspect the hospital soon after the incident, a patient charged with hefty bills immediately after being admitted at the Golden Hospital at Barahathwa came to light, sparking tension on Tuesday evening.

Chief Minister Singh had earlier inspected private hospitals in Nawalpur, Lalbandi, and Malangwa in Sarlahi and directed to close all health institutions that did not meet the standards.

Complaints are being received from all directions that despite instructions from CM Singh, hospitals without par standard are being operated openly.
