Siraha, April 10: Spokesperson of the Nepali Congress, Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, has ruled out the possibility of general convention of the party before Mangsir 2082BS.
He argued that there was no preparation made adequately for holding the general convention before this date.
Spokesperson Dr Mahat made it clear while speaking at a programme organized by the Nepal Press Union, Siraha chapter on Thursday.
"Even the secretariat for the general convention has not been formed. There is much delay in distribution and renewal of membership, so the slated date for the general convention was too early," he asserted, advocating for postponing the event.
According to him, the date for the party's mega event to elect a new leadership would be extended by at least one year.
On a different note, he shared that he had launched a campaign to interact with party leaders and cadres along the Postal Highway.
There is no possibility of constitutional monarchy at all in Nepal.
The NC-UML coalition government was working devotedly for the people, leader Dr Mahat asserted.(RSS)
