By Laxmi Timilsena, Jamunha, Apr.10: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has taken four people, including a computer operator, into custody.
Spokesperson Rajendra Kumar Poudel said four people, including Shakti Thakur, a computer operator working at Banke's Transport Management Office, Nepalgunj, were taken into custody on Wednesday.
Thakur, along with Assistant Computer Operator (wage earner) Manoj Giri, Nayab Subba (Non-Gazetted First Class Officer) Mukunda Raj KC of Cottage and small industries Office, Nepalgunj, Banke, and Sharad Kumar Gorathoki, proprietor of Mama Bhanja Motor Driving Center, Nepalgunj, were taken into custody by the authorities.
The arrest was made by a joint team from the Central Office of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority, the Commission's Office in Butwal, and the Liaison Office in Nepalgunj based on information and complaint filed, four of them were collecting more than 30 million rupees per month by distributing fake driver's licenses.
The CIAA stated that it is conducting further investigation by seizing the electronic equipment they used, in various locations in Banke district.
