Rajbiraj, April 5: Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens, Nawalkishor Saha Sudi, has said State needs to be further serous to enforce women's rights.
Addressing the concluding session of the week-long training on 'gender-responsive research and media' here Friday, Minister Sudi viewed it was worrying to see spate of violence against women in Nepali society. Women deserve education, health and opportunities in state agencies, he said, underlining the urgency of ending violence against women.
He, however, reminded government's commitment to ensuring women rights and ending discrimination and violence against them in collaboration with civil society organizations.
On the occasion, Chief District Officer of Saptari, Bhola Dahal, and Superintendent of Police, Dhakendra Khatiwada, shared their views on Nepal police's role on reducing incidents of violence against women in the district.(RSS)
