'Publicity of UML is underwhelming though involved in good deeds'

Kathmandu, Apr.4: Acting Chairman of the CPN (UML),  Ishwor Pokhrel, has said that the good work done by the UML has not been publicized.

He said so during a meeting with newly elected office bearers of Press Chautari Nepal on Thursday. 

Pokhrel said that other political parties have not been able to do as much good work as the CPN (UML), but they have more visibility and publicity.

Pokhrel, who is also the Vice President of UML, said that the press Chautari needs to publicize public work done by UML, urging the newly elected team to prepare a plan of action and engage in campaigning in a planned manner.

Noting that there has been widespread opposition to the Media Council Bill recently, he clarified that the bill was brought to regulate the media, not to control it.

He said that journalists near the press Chautari need to understand the essence of the bill and bring out its reality rather than opposing it.

He gave instructions to promote and defend the party's work.

He stressed that party work and press Chautrai needs to go hand in hand.
