Federal Democratic Front announced

Kathmandu, April 3: Seven political parties grounded on the Tarai-Madhes have announced the formation of a Federal Democratic Front.

The front was announced during a program here on Thursday with the objective of working for amending the constitution, protecting the federal democratic republic, and promoting good governance.     

The front includes the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal headed by Upendra Yadav, the Loktantrik Samajwadi Party Nepal headed by Mahantha Thakur, the Janmat Party headed by CK Raut, the Nagarik Unmukti Party headed by Ranjita Chaudhary, the Rastriya Mukti Party Nepal headed by Rajendra Mahato, the Janata Pragatisheel Party headed by Hridayesh Tripathi, and the Janata Pragatisheel Party headed by Brishesh Chandra Lal.     

The front has been announced with various 26-point objectives and commitments. The main objective of the front is to work to demarcate, name and structure the provinces on the basis of capacity and identity, distribute revenue and resources in a balanced and fair manner, enable the provinces to deliver services and facilities provided by the state to the people, enrich the federal democratic republican system by keeping the local level within the jurisdiction of the province, and clarify the jurisdiction between the federal and provincial governments.     

The front has also issued a 13-point code of conduct.(RSS)
