blog

Kathmandu, April 3: Flights to and from Tribhuvan International Airport have been adversely affected due to low visibility caused by haze in Kathmandu.

Chief and General Manager of Tribhuvan International Airport, JagannathNiraula, said that due to thick fog in the sky of Kathmandu for the past few days the 'visibility' has decrease and airplanes are landing and taking off with the help of 'IFR' technology.

He said, "Flights are being operated using IFR technology due to reduced visibility cause by the haze."

Though the flights have not yet been cancelled, General Manager Niraula shared that the visibility at the airport is now 3,000 meters.

According to him, due to the haze, three mountain flights of Buddha Air and one each of Yeti Airlines and Shree Airlines have been diverted to Bhairahawa and Janakpur today.(RSS)
