BY OUR CORRESPONDENT,Dhalkebar, Apr. 2: Private schools operating without registration in Mukhiyapatti Musaharnia Rural Municipality in Dhanusha district have been shut down.

Mukhiyapatti Musaharnia Rural Municipality Chairman Jai Kumar Yadav informed that 11 private schools, including New Sky, Tarai Child Development and Gangalal Shishu Pathshala, which were operating without registration, were closed on Tuesday.

According to the decision of the rural municipality's executive committee, all illegally operated private schools in the rural municipality have been shut down.

He stated that despite repeated requests to close the private and institutional schools operating without permission, the schools did not comply with the municipality’s directives. Therefore, following the rural municipality's decision, these schools have been shut.

As per the Local Governance Operation Act, 2017, local governments have the authority to operate and manage education up to the basic and secondary levels. In line with this, the local government has made efforts to improve the quality of education, informed Chairman Yadav.

He also urged parents not to enroll their children in illegally operated schools. He requested school operators to follow legal procedures before operating schools and warned that strict action would be taken against schools that defy the municipality's decision.
