By Rammani Dahal, Makwanpur, Apr.1: A drug dealer has looted a pistol of police from Kailash Rural Municipality-6, Makawanpur.
According to the Police, a police team led by Police Constable Arjun Tamang and Assistant Constable Govinda Magarati of the Area police office Palung, Makwanpur, went to the place on Monday after receiving information about the presence of drug dealers in the Dumsikharka forest in Kailash Rural Municipality-6,. However, drug dealers' absconded after beating police and robbing their pistol.
According to the Chief of Makawanpur District Police Office (Superintendent of Police) Bishwaraj Khadka, a pistol of a police team who went to the spot after receiving information that opium dealers were there was stolen.
He said that a group of 10-15 people, including drug dealers, robbed the pistol by beating creating a chaos.
Search is underway for the stolen pistol and those involved in the robbery.
Police Constable Tamang and Assistant Police Constable Magrati had gone to the forest after receiving information about drug trafficking, but the drug traffickers had fled, leaving behind opium and a motorcycle.
While they were coming towards the Area Police Office with opium and a motorcycle, a large group of locals surrounded and beat up the police.
It has been reported that although police were mobilized under the leadership of Deputy Superintendent of Police Shyam Aryal of the District Police Office, Makawanpur, immediately after the incident, the gun is yet to be ascertained.
Superintendent of Police Khadka said that a search is underway for missing pistol and the people involved in the accident.
