Muslim community celebrates Eid-ul-Fitr

Kathmandu, Mar.31: Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated across nation, especially by Muslim community,  today. 

On Monday morning, the Muslim community in Kathmandu Valley  has celebrated this festival by exchanging greeting at the mosque near Ghantaghar and other mosques.

The government has declared Monday a public holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations.

Eid ul Fitr is one of the most important festivals of the Muslim community. 

The holy month of Ramadan is the 9th month in the Islamic lunar calendar. It is considered as a holy month of fasting. 

Fasting(Roja) generally entails abstaining from food, drink, and sexual relations from before the first light of dawn until the setting of the sun.

According to experts, spiritual purity, charity, compassion, and self-control are practiced during this period.
