Kathmandu, March 30: The District Court, Kathmandu has given permission to the police to keep in detention 11 persons, including RPP leader Rabindra Mishra and lawmaker Dhawal Shamser Rana for investigating on the crime against State.
They were arrested in connection with the violence orchestrated at Tinkune, Kathmandu on Friday.
A bench of judge Taradevi Maharjan permitted the police custody to 11 persons held in connection with the Tinkune violence, according to record keeper at district court, Tirtha Raj Bhattarai. Those held on March 28 would be kept in police custody for five days and those held on March 29 for four days.
Earlier, with the initial study, the District Attorney Office, Kathmandu had argued the crime against state could be invoked against those arrested on March 28.
Chief of District Attorney, Ramhari Sharma Kafle, informed that 30 others held on charge of organized crime and criminal acts were also requested for extension of the police custody.(RSS)
