Chair Bhattarai bats for directly elected head

Dang, March 27 : Chairperson of the Nepal Samajbadi Party (Naya Shakti) and former Prime Minister, Dr Baburam Bhattarai, has said country's economic and politics were in jitter.   

 
At a programme organized in Ghorahi today, he mentioned that existing problems would be resolved if directly elected presidential system was adopted by forging consensus among the political parties.    

Chair Bhattarai pointed out the need of directly elected presidential system because the present model of governance could not work as per the expectation despite adequate political rights enshrined in the constitution.    

In his argument, economic development would be institutionalized in such country where there was directly elected executive.    

"The constitution has guaranteed rights but failed to forward the issues of economic development. So people are disappointed", the Chair buttressed. (RSS)
