PM vows forwarding construction of GP Koirala Conference Hall

Kathmandu, March 26: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has vowed to forward construction of the GP Koirala Conference Hall at Bhadrapur municipality-8 in Jhapa district.     

A delegation comprising Nepali Congress leader and National Assembly member, Krishna Prasad Sitaula, and municipality mayor Ganesh Pokharel reached PM's residence, Baluwatar on Wednesday and requested PM for his support to construct the conference hall. The construction of the hall was stalled in the middle.     

Receiving a memorandum, PM Oli made commitment before the delegation that he would take initiative to resume the construction of the stalled conference hall.     

Then district development committee had contracted with a construction company to complete work in two years, but it was botched up for legal and budgetary hurdles. The contract term was extended for several times in the last 9 years.     

Top leaders of three major political parties, including then Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, had jointly laid the foundation stone to the conference hall on July 13, 2015. (RSS)
