International Theatre Festival in Pokhara

Gandaki, 23 March: The 'Pokhara International Drama Festival-2081' is beginning here from Saturday.     

Theatre from various countries including China, Tunisia, Norway, Japan and others, including host Nepal will be staged in the festival to be held at the Pokhara Theater.     

"Six plays of different genres will be presented in the festival which is also expected to help introduce Pokhara as a cultural tourism destination," said the director of the festival, Madhav Karki (Parivartan). The festival also includes interactions between artists, theater workers and tourism entrepreneurs.     

Pokhara Theater has stated that it is estimated that the four-day festival will cost Rs 3 million. Pokhara Municipal Corporation is the festival promoter.     

Prior to this, the Pokhara International Drama Festival was held for the first time in 2075 BS. On the first day of the festival, on Saturday, the famous play Munamadan will be staged.(RSS)
