By Amarraj NaharkiTanahun, Mar. 21: Gandaki Province Chief Minister Surendraraj Pandey inspected the Aanbukhaireni Hospital operated by Aanbukhaireni Rural Municipality the other day. He inspected to assess the hospital's upgrading process.

Stressing the provincial government's priority to provide quality healthcare services to the public, Chief Minister Pandey expressed his commitment to supporting the expansion of the hospital’s capacity.

He assured that the provincial government is committed to working with local governments and will soon provide medical equipment to health institutions across the province as resources allow.

As part of the government’s effort to ensure accessible healthcare services for all citizens, the Aanbukhaireni Health Post was upgraded to a 15-bed hospital starting on November 16, 2024.

This hospital currently serves residents of Aanbukhaireni as well as people from Bandipur, Palungtar in Gorkha, Shahid Lakhan and Ichhakamana Rural Municipality in Chitwan. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services, basic laboratory tests, X-ray, video X-ray, ECG and pharmacy services.

The rural municipality has been operating the hospital from its ward office building and assembly hall. The rural municipality has set a goal to establish a trauma hospital in the region.

According to the Chairman of the rural municipality Sukra Chuman, the hospital can be constructed on around 200 ropanis of land, including the premises of the public and Mitrata Secondary School located in Aanbukhaireni-1, Satrasaya.

Chuman added, “There is no government hospital within 50 kilometres east of Damauli in Tanahun. In case of an accident, patients must rush to Chitwan or Kathmandu for treatment. If we can bring resident doctors from the National Trauma Centre, we could save many lives.”
