Monarchist demonstrators carry out arson, vandalism and looting in Tinkune area

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Mar 28: Pro-monarchy demonstrators have carried out arson, looting and vandalism in Tinkune area where they were supposed to hold mass meeting.

The monarchist demonstrators set the Koteshwor based Jatibuti (herbal medicine) company on fire which also burned down the vehicles parked inside the company.


Similarly, the demonstrators vandalized the central party office of the CPN (Unified Socialist) located at Alok Nagar and set it on fire. They also attempted to vandalise the central office of the CPN (Maoist Center) located at Paris Danda. Security has been scaled up in the central office of the CPN (UML).

Earlier, the demonstrators set a house at Tinkune on fire.


The monarchist demonstrators vandalized the Bhatbhateni supermarket located at Koteshwar and carried out looting there. Videos and photos shared in social media showed groups of people looting different items including fruits, alcohol bottles from the supermarket. They also vandalised offices of the media houses such as Kantipur and Annapurna Post. 

Meanwhile, curfew has been imposed in the Tinkune area from 4 pm to 10 pm this evening.
