First day of SEE concludes smoothly

By Sapana Thami, Kathmandu, Pratik Poudel, Rupandehi, Mar.20: Controller of Examinations at the Office of the Controller of Examinations, Grade 10 Nandalal Paudel, said that the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) has been conducted in a peaceful and dignified atmosphere. 

Speaking to TRN Online, he said that the examination, which was conducted in 2,079 examination centers across the country and via Viber in Japan, was conducted in a comfortable atmosphere.

He said, "The exams concluded in a very peaceful manner across the country. No such problems were witnessed anywhere. Five to seven monitoring teams especially in Madhesh Province, were formed for smooth running of examinations."

According to him, only one case of the foraged identity of the student sitting in examination has been witnessed in Rupandehi. Besides that, no other incident has come on the surface. 

He said, "There has been no witness of problems related to question papers, questions and examinees in any part of the country so far. Police have already taken one fake examinee into custody in Rupandehi. Apart from that, no other isolated incidents have occurred so far."

According to him, the policy is to mobilize the monitoring team without any hindrance as per the decision of the  Provincial Examination Operation and Management Committee in the province and the decision of the Provincial Examination Operation and Management Committee in the entire district. 

He said that the monitoring in Japan will be done by the Embassy of Japan.

According to him, 514,071 students have appeared in the SEE. Examination of English paper examination was held on Thursday as the first exam of the SEE.

Meanwhile, according to Gorkhapatra correspondent Pratik Poudel from Rupandehi, a student was found appearing at the Leelaram Neupane Secondary School examination center of Siddharthanagar Municipality-8 with a different photo attached to the identity card.

According to Roop Kumar Rayamajhi, head of the examination center, when the photo on the admission form did not match the face of the examinee while signing the admission form, the case of forging the identity of the student was discovered. Later he was questioned din the matter.
