blog

By Rammani Dahal,Makwanpur, March 19: Hetauda, known as the “Green City,” is now set to highlight its distinct identity through artworks. Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City has initiated a project to promote and identify key tourist destinations within the municipality by displaying paintings in prominent public spaces.

As part of the first phase, artists have been commissioned to create murals on the walls of Nepal Trust along the East-West Highway in Ward No. 10. These paintings aim to depict significant tourist attractions within the municipality.

Mayor Meena Kumari Lama stated that this initiative was part of a broader campaign to further establish Hetauda’s reputation as a beautiful city. While inspecting the ongoing work, she encouraged suggestions for improvements and mentioned that the first phase would cover an area of 1,700 square feet. A total of 15 key tourist sites will be illustrated through murals. Mayor Lama further explained that the project would gradually be extended to other parts of the municipality, visually representing notable landmarks through paintings and reinforcing Hetauda as a tourist destination.

The sub-metropolitan city has allocated Rs. 468,353 for this initiative. The artwork aims to enhance urban aesthetics while fostering tourism by creatively showcasing the region’s attractions.
