By Our Correspondent,Tanahun, Mar. 18: Amar Raj Naharki, Tanahun correspondent of The Rising Nepal, has been honoured with the ‘Mofasal Journalist Award’ in Bhaktapur.
The award was presented during the 5th Epic Nepal Music Award held in Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-4, Duipokhari, Bhaktapur. Radhika Shakya, spouse of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, presented the certificate of honour to journalist Naharki.
Naharki has received numerous awards and recognition.
He has been honoured with the Regional Education Journalism Award- 2072 from the Nepal Journalist Association and the Ministry of Education's Education Department, the Education Writing Award -2070, the Youth Journalism Award -2081 from the Nepal Tarun Dal Tanahun, the Jaya Prapti Music Award, and many other awards.
Naharki is the past president of the Nepal Press Union Tanahun and has been active in journalism for over two decades.
Babita Shrestha ‘Maleku’, the event organiser and music video director, said that Naharki was chosen for this recognition to ensure that those contributing from the countryside are not overlooked.
The event, held under the theme ‘Honouring Nepali Art and Creators, Preserving and Promoting Nepali Culture,’ also included presentations of the Dhime Baja, Lakhey Naach, and Ashta Laxmi Dance from the Newar community.
Epic Nepal’s president Yaman Shrestha informed that awards were given in 40 categories, including modern, pop, Lok pop, festival-specific, and Deuda music, and films.
