By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Mar 11: Former Prime Minister and Chairman of the main opposition party, CPN (Maoist Center), Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has warned the monarchist forces that any attempt to attack republican set up will be responded with a harsh revolution.
Addressing the meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) on
Tuesday, the leader of the main opposition party in the parliament suggested
the monarchist forces to seek their space within democratic set up.
"We all political parties have been maintaining the value that
democracy is as much for Prachanda as it is for Gyanendra Shah as a
person," he said, "I urge monarchist forces to seek their space
within republican democracy."
He viewed that present republican set up had given security to the
former king. "But, if the monarchist forces attempt to dismantle it, a
harsh revolution will be a response to them."
The leader of the opposition party also remarked that the reasons for activities of the monarchist forces were the government's working styles and resultant dissatisfaction.
Chairman Prachanda, who led a decade long armed rebellion against
monarchy from 1996-2006, suspected that there was an organized attempt behind
the way the monarchist forces have become active. "There is a mix of
internal and external plots to upside down the current system. We know this for
long. However, the question is why it increased exactly at this time."
