Phungling, Feb 22: Heavy snowfall has taken place in the Pathibhara (Mukumlung) area of Taplejung. The snowfall occurred last night in Pathibhara, which lies at an altitude of 3,794 meters, and other adjoining areas.
The Pathibhara area has received the
heaviest snowfall of this year, after moderate snowfall for the first time last
month, according to Pathibhara Area Development Committee member Rajendra
Mahat. Snowfall has taken place up to Kafle Pati.
Despite the heavy snowfall pilgrims
who went to visit Pathibhara were not affected, said Prajin Hangbang, executive
director of the Committee. Since a fiber roof has been installed on the
two-kilometer trekking route pilgrims are be able to reach Pathibhara Dham
easily even in case of snowfall.
According to the Pathibhara Area
Development Committee, 300 pilgrims performed pooja at Pathibhara Dham
