blog

Kathmandu, Feb 19 : The first President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, Dr Ram Baran Yadav, has said that the foundation of achieving all the rights enjoyed by the Nepali people today was the result of the revolution of 2007 BS.

Talking to RSS on the occasion of the National Democracy Day, he called upon all Nepalis to celebrate the day in a proud manner as Fagun 7 in Nepali calendar is important in Nepal's political history.

"This is people's day. This day should be taken as a milestone in achieving the rights of the people. Today is the day when the people were liberated as a result of the fight for the rights of the people that took place in 2007 BS," the first President of Republic Nepal said.

Stating that the country is in the practice of federalism, republic, inclusiveness, proportional representation and secular democracy, he said the main foundation of achieving that was the political change of 2007.
