Kathmandu, Feb 14: The Ministry of Physical Infrastructures and Transport has recorded less than 30 percent spending in seven months of the current fiscal year.
The ministry posted total 28.15 percent spending in the initial seven months. The ministry shared this information on Friday. Now, with only 5 months left to complete the fiscal year, the ministry is burdened to spend over 70 percent budget.
Rs 7.48 billion was allocated under the current expenditure and Rs 1.43 billion under the capital expenditure for this year. The ministry is the body responsible for policy works to carry out infrastructure developments and transport system.
Despite having little progress in budget spending, the ministry made public the achievements it made under road department, railway department, and transport management.
Minister for Physical Infrastructures and Transport, Devendra Dahal, claimed they were heading to progress. "During this period, all-out efforts are made to secure highest achievements despite limited resources and problems facing mega projects," he shared. He informed that the ministry was on track to secure 10 targets set for 100 days and 12 targets for 200 days into the office.
Dahal, however, admitted that they were yet to work effectively to meet people's expectation.(RSS)
