By Prakash Vikram Shah, Dhangadhi, June 30: Sudurpashchim Province's temporary capital, Dhangadhi, witnessed 200mm rainfall in the last 24 hours.
According to the Mahakali Basin Chief Engineer at Attaria, Sanjay Kumar Sah, this is the first time in this monsoon that Dhangadhi saw such an amount of precipitation.
The rainfall started in Dhangadhi from Sunday afternoon. "But heavy rainfall occurred since 4 AM today morning", Engineer Sah said, "Rainfall will decrease from tonight."
According to him, Kanchanpur's Belauri witnessed 264.6mm of rain more than in Dhangadhi in the last 24 hours. Kanchanpur's Krishnapur Khallakot received 184 mm of rainfall.
Mahakali Besin Office informed that all nine districts of the province are witnessing medium to light rainfall.
It also said that the province will receive medium rainfall this whole week, which will increase the water flow of the Doda River.
It has been predicted that the Mohana River and the vicinity settlements will be affected as rainfall occurs in Dhangadhi and nearby areas.
